On Thursday April 10, 2008 after an American friend saw my picture in uniform at the entrance of the Vatican Embassy in Turkey/ Istanbul in 1999; wrote:
“You looked pretty handsome in those uniforms.”
I replied:
Thank you!
That was the uniform directly by the Pope John Paul II; he sent it for me.
Then I thought why not to share the story?

A Certificate by Fr. Adriano Franchini
On October 1998 I arrived to Turkey with a completely broken body while I was taking around of 45-50 Aspirin daily to reduce the pain of broken parts of my body which were the result of tortures in Iran just few months before I can escape from the military ambulance in Tehran/ Iran and make it to Turkey.
I was also taking 4 Antibiotics 1000 milligrams every day to prevent the possible infection of the Cervical Spine Fluid (CSF) leakage from my both ears which was the result of beating my head to a concert wall by the Iranian interrogators during the interrogations in prison.
As soon as I referenced to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), somehow my medical treatments almost started, but very soon in 1999 I faced my first deportation by the Turkish INS to Iran, so that I had no chose other than to escape and being wanted by the Turkish government for almost 4 months.
As the result of my deportation to Iran by the Turkish government, my medical treatments stopped because I was unable to go to hospitals, but still receiving painkillers and antibiotics from pharmacies by the my UNHCR insurance card.
After the UNHCR recognized me as a political refugee, but still I was facing my second deportation to Iran; on August 17, 1999 at 3:01 am the biggest earthquake of the recent decades happened in Turkey.

According to the Wikipedia the 1999 %u0130zmit earthquake was an approximately 7.6 magnitude earthquake that struck northwestern Turkey on August 17, 1999, at about 3:01am local time. The event lasted for 37 seconds, killing up to 45,000 people and leaving approximately half a million people homeless.

As the result of my dream and its interpretation by one of my Sufi Brothers in Iran, I and my closed Turkish Sufi Brothers, their family members, relatives and their neighbors were sleeping on the yards instead of sleeping inside the homes or apartments from three nights before the earthquake happens, and were ready to save the victims with the entire engineering tools we already had.

The 37 second was as long as hours for all of us who were sticking to the ground which was shaking like a hammock under our feet, and watching buildings which were collapsing before our eyes as the same time hearing the voices asking for help all around the Istanbul.

Right after the earthquake, we started to rescue the victims.

During the first three days we could rescue hundreds alive, and hundreds of dead bodies, we were working for up to 72 hours, no food, no rest, no sleep, and many times even no water.

I remember after 72 hours we were almost unable to recognize each other.
From the day four, I was in the Vatican Embassy to join a group of people from the Vatican, U.S., Canadian, and Australian Embassies plus the United Nations to serve the earthquake victims and a half million homeless of 12 cities in Turkey.

Vatican Embassy With Fr. Adriano Franchini Turkey 1999
I and my team (Three people) were responsible for Adapazari, Istanbul, Yaluva, the three important cities and the entire villages around of them.

On August 24, 1999 we arrived to Adapazari with thousands of tons of food, medicines, water, blankets, tents, and…
As soon as we arrived to Adapazari we established our headquarter in a technical high school and created a network of volunteers by hundreds of local teenagers in three cities and the villages around them to serve thousands of families daily.

I am proud of six months serving Turkish people who saved my life during my deportations.

Working voluntarily with Vatican Embassy brought me to knowledge of Fr. Adriano Franchini, Fr. David, and many other lovely Sisters and Brothers from Turkey and around the world some of them even those who worked with Mother Teresa.
Every weekend all of us at the region were waiting for some of these lovely Sisters, Brothers, to attend in our headquarters.
That was very interesting that all of them especially Fr. Adriano Franchini were so concern about the Muslim victims, and wanted they have as much as food and water, and a safe place to pray during the Ramadan.

Vatican Embassy Turkey 1999
In one of those weekends the Real Gifts arrived only for the first three volunteers, the Uniforms in special boxes; the Gifts from and Blessed by the
Pope John Paul II.
On December 1999 in spite of two deportations to Iran by the Turkish government, because of the supports by the Turkish people; the UNHCR, United Nations, Vatican Embassy, and the ICMC could get the agreement of Turkish government for a surgery on my head to stop a part of the CSF leakage.
On December 10, 1999 I had my first surgery in Istanbul hospital by some Turkish Surgeons the members of the Doctors without Borders, which the Vatican Embassy, UNHCR, ICMC paid for it.
On January 25, 2000 I was in the Las Vegas/ Nevada/ the United States; while still the Vatican Embassy was helping and sending me money for months.
